Foundation Course FAQs

How old must I be to apply for the Foundation Course?
Applicants must be 18 or over by the Foundation Course start date in September.

Can I join the Foundation Course if I do not plan on progressing onto a Degree?
The Foundation Course is designed in such a way that it is suitable for anyone who wants to explore their creativity further and develop their skills and techniques within art and design. All levels of applicants are welcome whether a beginner, mature student or art and design enthusiasts. This is the ideal course to discover if future studies, or a career, in art and design is the right pathway for you.

What are the entry requirements and qualifications I need to apply for the Art and Design Foundation Course?
There are no qualification requirements for the Foundation Course. However, as we have limited places, we do ask that a Digital Portfolio is submitted with the application in order to determine whether the course is suitable for you.

Am I able to receive a scholarship, bursary or student loan for the Foundation Course?
Applicants are not able to apply for Student Finance for the London Art Portfolio Art and Design Foundation Course. However, previous applicants have received funding from external organisations, which they have independently researched.

What is the structure for paying fees for the Foundation course?
Foundation Course fees must be paid in advance of the course. This can be paid in one payment, or for those that apply early, we can offer an installments payment plan.

Is the London Art Portfolio Art and Design Foundation Course accredited?
The London Art Portfolio Foundation Course programme follows a focused approach to the exploration of materials, skills and methods to benefit the requirements of each student.
Through this programme individuals will build a successful portfolio and will receive an in-house certification (as opposed to an accreditation). Our Foundation Course students achieve successful offers from top UK, EU and international universities, as well as success with internships and work placements at leading design houses and artist studios.
