Continuing the British spirit….
The V&A have opened their newest exhibition – British Design, 1948 – 2012. To celebrate the Jubilee this June, as well as the London Olympic Games, the exhibition highlights the best of British post-war Design, and follows the history of design within the UK and the changes that have affected the art world. Focusing on British designers, and those who were born or trained in the UK, it is a fascinating visual journey to educate and inspire.
Looking at the effects of the Second World War and the task of reconstruction and modernization, the collection explores the political, economical and cultural influences of British design and how tradition has changed over the past 60 years.
