    Art Shops

    MacCulloch & Wallis

This little shop lies in the back streets of Oxford Street and is a little gem as it’s floors and walls are filled with haberdasheries and the like.If you’re a textile/fashion/material/bits&bobs etc etc fiend, then this place is for you!It has copious amounts of whatever you may need, as you can see on the website, but I do advise you to have a little gander to the shop, it is lovely in there and even from the outside too.www.macculloch-wallis.co.uk  _________________________________________

    London Graphic Centre

They’ve been going since 1970-something and specialise in ‘material to the art and design community’ and more! Aimed more for designers, this still provides a hefty amount in typical art supplies too.Now their prices aren’t cheap, but they are fantastic for whatever you may want; the bits and pieces you can’t find elsewhere. They also have more than one store in London; their flagship and biggest is in Covent Garden and also Goodge Street and Barbican.Have a browse online to see just how much they offer and in things you may never heard of.www.londongraphics.co.uk_________________________________________

    Atlantis

This is every creative person’s heaven; infact, it’s big enough to be heaven.Atlantis not only has remarkably good prices, real top quality stuff in such a range, but they also pretty much have everything (except glitter!)Nothing can be said really to justify what this place is really like, only if you visit. It’s just off of Brick Lane so when you go make sure you have a purse full of money, and enough time on your hands to wander around for fun; it’s massive. So on the website find out where it is and go, if not have a look on the shop gallery to see what all the fuss is about and also have a flick through the online catalogue.www.atlantisart.co.ukAddress:Britannia House

But the biggest on is in Islington. They have 4 shops around London; Hampstead, Islington, Soho, Charing Cross and Kensington.Look on the website for more information, and how to get there.www.cassart.co.uk_____________________________________________________________________________________________

    • At London Art Portfolio you are encouraged to seek inspiration everywhere, whatever stirs your passion, and afterwards introduced to an imaginative range of materials and techniques to visualise your ideas. The process was great fun and everyone on the course was really friendly and bounced off on each other’s skills and ideas. It was a pleasure to be there!

      Anne Elmholt
    • Thanks to this course, I began to understand the value of practising and honing your craft. It is important to know how to build a project from the ground up, with time and perseverance, but it is also important to back up your ideas with practiced skill.

    • I’m currently an undergraduate student studying Architecture. After failing my first year I began to attend one-to-one tutorials at London Art Portfolio. After attending tutorials for a year I ended happily with a first and now moving onto second year!

    • London Art Portfolio helped me find my creative self again, it helped me learn how to develop my own projects and how to present them properly. Fantastic team, great tutorials, vibrant and inspiring atmosphere. I will be eternally thankful to London Art Portfolio, especially to Julia…

    • At first I was uncertain of my own abilities and I lacked confidence. That is why I decided to seek the expertise of Julia at London Art Portfolio. She made me feel comfortable from the very beginning and starting from our first one-to-one tutorial I began to develop my drawing skills. She made sure that throughout our time together we explored different mediums, techniques and approaches.

      Annabelle Gee
    • ..London Art Portfolio, and Julia in particular, gave me creative guidance and help throughout the course to make sure I achieved and produced work, not only I, myself was pleased with, but work that would get me accepted to the schools I applied to…
