Students will learn how to draw convincing three-dimensional structures and environments in one, two and three-point linear perspective and as isometric projections. Linear perspective is an essential drawing skill. It will improve your drawings and help you better understand the forms of the spaces and structures around you.
The course takes students through exercises explaining what linear perspective is, how these drawing techniques are applied and how they bring increasingly effective illusions of depth and volume to your pictures. You will draw exteriors and interiors of buildings as angular forms but also learn how to incorporate curves, ellipses, arches and columns.
By the end of the course, you will be able to accurately draw three-dimensional structures and environments from direct observation, photographs, your their imagination and from plans, sketches and notes.
