London Art Portfolio offers a 1-week summer course programme that can build and add to your portfolio preparation.
The 1 Week Summer Course is an ideal way to start working towards the preparation of your art and design portfolio or kick start that career change you’ve always wanted.
This enrichment course will help you decide which area of art and design to choose for your future Foundation or UCAS Degree applications. Some tutees follow up their one-week personal development with One-One tutorials to extend and explore their skills and techniques further.
Beginners, career change, to advanced level are welcome. We are also very popular with school pupils. In the afternoons’ students are expected to continue their morning study independently and be ready to share their work the next morning in order to receive feedback.
Schedule
Monday – Thursday: 9 am-12 noon
Afternoons: Students are expected to continue their morning study independently each afternoon and to be ready to share their work, the following morning to receive helpful feedback. In this way, you can fully benefit from our portfolio course programme.
Online study: LAP uses Zoom. Please have Powerpoint and Word already set up on your computer, with plenty of space available plus an external drive or USB.
It is essential that your independent follow up study continues whether your studies are online or on-site.

1 Week Summer Course – Drawing Portfolio Enrichment
Course Outline
You will be introduced to drawing and make full use of London by maximizing the wonders of the amazing Museums and contemporary art galleries it has to offer.
You will be introduced to a range of materials, processes and techniques, which is ideal for both beginners and the more advanced client.
You will have the opportunity to learn more about historical and contemporary artists and designers, which we embrace fully for the research of fun, innovative ideas.
For some students, the 1 Week Summer Portfolio Course is a useful way in which to add to or enrich a school project or coursework. You will be able to utilise the skills learnt on the 1 Week Summer Course for future project development too.
Some students at London Art Portfolio decide to continue their one-week personal development with extended studies either on the extended portfolio building course depending on availability. Other students choose to book the more bespoke one-one tutorials so they can extend and explore their skills and techniques further. One-One tuition offers the flexibility to fit in with your lifestyle and summer plans. Beginners, school pupils planning ahead, career change and more advanced art and design students are very welcome.

- A set of STABILO Point 88 fine line coloured pens (very fine point)
- Uni Pin Drawing Pens, Pack of 5 Assorted Tip Sizes, Black Ink
- Charcoal pencils, one black, white, brown and grey

One-One Additional Support
Many of our tutees have built up their portfolio with a summer course alongside One-One Tutorial support, which gives you the opportunity to focus on your whole UCAS application process.
Reference opportunity for committed portfolio tutees. For committed students, this can also lead to receiving a very supportive reference from London Art Portfolio for your Foundation, UCAS Undergraduate, or Masters applications. We have a close working relationship with the University of the Arts London and University of Creative Arts London, Goldsmiths, Brighton Art School and many more art and design education institutions both in the UK and elsewhere!
