The 18 Week Art Portfolio Preparation Course is a great way to prepare for serious direct entry applications for Degree and Masters level; programmes. The group size is a maximum of 10-14 students per group, and will study in an intimate, supportive environment. This is perfect for those who want to cover all skills in more depth whilst studying in an intimate, supportive environment.
The LAP course is a great way to raise your English language and written skills whilst building up a strong art and design specialist vocabulary. We have the skills and expertise to teach each level. We offer a range of Portfolio Course start dates. Ideally, we aim for all students to start on the same date. We understand that sometimes applicants have unique circumstances, so we try our best to consider your application needs. Unfortunately, we won’t be able to allow late entries after the first few weeks, which will also require consultation. During the 18-Week Portfolio Preparation Course, you will receive ongoing feedback. Experienced portfolio tutors will support you throughout this process. Many tutors are professional, practising artists and designers and run their own design companies.
This 18-Week Art Portfolio Preparation Course is a far more comprehensive course; this course allows you to learn all the fundamentals while also learning how to design a personal project. All students are expected to use what they have been introduced to in the course for their personal project London Art Portfolio.
This programme includes an extensive study in Adobe Photoshop and how to create grids for Digital Portfolios, plus the possibility of being taught Adobe After Effects or 3D Rhino.

When you complete a Portfolio Course at LAP the aim is for you to leave with a creative, innovative portfolio, well thought through and well presented for a range of personal goals. Full attendance is required; all students must follow the course programme closely and be willing to extend work in their personal time.
You will complete the course with a prepared portfolio that will present a range of hands-on drawing skills alongside 2D and 3D design skills. This is all essential for successful University and work applications. LAP students can draw and design by hand and use various computer-aided design programmes. LAP uses Zoom. Please have PowerPoint, Microsoft Word, or the Google Suite already set up on your computer, with plenty of space and an external drive or USB.
It is essential that your independent follow-up study continues whether your studies are online or onsite. Full attendance is expected.

From the start of your Degree or Foundation Course, you will be confident and able to follow through and understand the requirements of projects on your course programme. Upon completion of your applications for either Degree or Foundation Courses, universities request for a digital portfolio to be submitted. Each university requests a different format and amount of artwork images to upload.
Preparing for this requires a strong physical portfolio to be ready, selection of work from the portfolio, high-end photography, grouping and layout design of artwork.
The Digital Portfolio Preparation Package offered by London Art Portfolio is optional; however, we advise that you consider booking this as all universities will ask for a digital portfolio in various formats to be sent to them.
