Summer Art & Design Taster Course – Morning (1 Week)

Join us for an immersive Summer Art & Design Taster Course to explore the exciting world of artistic expression. Whether you’re a beginner looking to discover your interests or someone who wants to rekindle a passion for art, this course is designed to meet the needs of individuals of diverse backgrounds and skill levels. Through guided exercises and personalised feedback, you will gain insight into how drawing serves as the foundation for disciplines such as Architecture, Graphic Design, Fashion Design, and much more.

Small group sizes with full attendance should lead to success for committed students!

Designed with global accessibility in mind, our course accommodates students from different corners of the world. With both morning and afternoon sessions available for booking, students from Asia time zones may find the morning session suitable for a fun after-school activity, whereas students in US time zones may find the afternoon session a good fit for their schedules.

Students who would like to book both morning and afternoon sessions are welcome to do so, with the aim of extending skills learnt from each morning session in the afternoon.

Our online-only format also ensures flexibility and convenience, with students having the freedom to draw from objects from their surroundings, drawing from photographs, memory, or the imagination, all from the comfort of their own homes.

Time: 10am – 1pm

On this course, you’ll be introduced to the basics of drawing and design focusing on real-life subjects, photos, memories, to spark your imagination. Explore the fundamentals of line, tone, composition, and colour to ignite your artistic passions. These skills, combined with your individual creativity, can provide a solid foundation for aspiring artists or designers. This will help you on your personal journey and form the basis of your start up art or design portfolio.

Throughout the course, experienced art and design tutors will guide you, offering support and direction through a variety of daily activities, which will include:

• Exploring line drawing techniques using different mediums
• Experimenting with mark-making and understanding tone
• Creating collages for both art and design purposes
• Learning how to block in colour effectively
• Experimenting with mixed media for art or design

• A3 or A2 white cartridge paper (140-200 grams in weight)
• A3 sketchbook & A5 notebook
