Summer Art & Design Taster Course for 16-18 Year Olds – Morning (1 Week)

Immerse yourself in our Summer Art & Design Taster Course, where you will delve into the vibrant world of creative expression, possibly igniting a lifelong passion for art & design.

Designed to accommodate individuals of varying backgrounds and skill levels, our course welcomes beginners eager to explore the fundamentals of art & design and those seeking to rediscover their childhood passion for drawing.

Through carefully curated activities and personalised support, you will uncover the importance of drawing as a cornerstone for disciplines such as Fine Art, Interior Design, Fashion Design, and beyond.

Small group sizes with full attendance should lead to success for committed students!

With global accessibility in mind, we offer a morning and an afternoon session for our Summer Art & Design Taster Courses, allowing students from different parts of the world to join in and participate. For instance, those in Asia time zones may find the morning session ideal as an after-school activity. In contrast, students in US time zones may prefer the afternoon session to start their day with creative activities.

Our course dates are tailored to fit in with UK school holidays. Students keen on maximising their learning during their break are welcome to book both the morning and afternoon sessions to extend the knowledge and skills learnt in the morning and develop this further in the afternoon session.

We currently provide an online-only structure for our taster courses, ensuring flexibility and convenience for students. This gives you the freedom to draw from your surroundings, whether it be objects and photographs from home, memories, or your imagination, all from the comfort of your home.

What you will learn:

Join us for an enriching summer experience while laying the groundwork for your Art and Design application Portfolio. Our Taster Course introduces drawing and design skills through an engaging mini-summer Portfolio Project. Explore line, tone, composition, and colour, fostering confidence and artistic curiosity. Collaborate with other young creatives from the UK and beyond, forming new friendships.

Ignite your interests through a diverse array of daily activities aimed at kickstarting your portfolio:

• Experiment with line drawing techniques using various mediums
• Explore mark-making and tone
• Dive into the world of collage for both art and design purposes
• Master mixed media techniques and effective colour blocking.
