Fine Art & Surface Design Tutor

Richard is a Fine Art & Surface Design Tutor. He initially studied on the Textile Design Degree at UAL Central Saint Martins, where he specialised in the Print Pathway. More recently Richard completed a Post Graduate Diploma in Drawing at the Royal Drawing School London. Although Richard originally studied Textile Design he now focuses on his Fine Artwork which is busy exhibiting. In 2018 Richard was selected for the well renowned Bloomberg New Contemporaries 2018, which was established in 1949.
In 2018 the Bloomberg New Contemporaries was hosted for the first time at Liverpool School of Art and Design, Liverpool John Moores University from 14th July – 9th September. In December 2018 this dynamic collection of work, which features 57 emerging British artists, was then invited to be shown at the South London Gallery which was followed by invited talks in February 2019. Past exhibitors of Bloomberg New Contemporaries include Patrick Caulfield, Frank Auerbach, David Hockney, YBAs Damien Hirst, Gillian Wearing, Tacita Dean and Mike Nelson. Selected for the Bloomberg New Contemporaries 2018.
At LondonArt Portfolio, Richard tutors in fine art, textile design and fashion illustration. He has a profound knowledge of textile and print techniques and understands its close relationship to fashion design too. In addition, he supports the portfolio course programmes with a range of drawing and painting techniques, fine art ideas and concept development, and with some CAD skills in Photoshop too when required. Richard is a very engaging and supportive tutor who has built up knowledge and experience in Portfolio Preparation and design. In addition, he also tutors for the Royal Drawing School Young Artists Associates programme for children aged 10 to 14 on weekly drawing clubs that take place at the National Gallery, Whitechapel Gallery and British Museum.
